Apple and Google only publish charts per country. We take today's Top Free chart from each of 195 countries, give every position a score that falls off with rank (#1 counts far more than #50), multiply it by that country's share of downloads on the store, and add it up per app. The highest totals make the worldwide chart. If a country's chart could not be captured today, its chart from the previous day stands in.

No. The stores do not publish one. This is an AppWinners estimate from public chart positions. It shows which apps are winning across the most important markets at once, but it does not count downloads or revenue.

Google Play refreshes its charts several times a day. AppWinners captures one snapshot per day at about 06:00 UTC and keeps every snapshot, so you can compare any day with any other.

Top Free ranks apps with no up-front price by the number of new downloads over a short recent window, weighted towards the last day or two.

200 apps today. The Google Play publishes up to 200 positions for this chart; we show every position the store published.

The worldwide chart only includes apps that reach the top charts of the countries that carry the most weight. Search for your app to see every country chart it is on today.
